Kate Julian is a contributing writer for The Atlantic, with a particular interest in the challenges of growing up and coming of age in the 21st century. She is currently completing work on a book that expands on the themes of her Atlantic article “The Sex Recession.” Before joining The Atlantic as a senior editor in 2012, Julian was the deputy editor of The Washington Post’s Sunday Outlook section and the managing editor of The New Yorker. She lives in the Washington, D.C., area with her husband and two children.
